Ukrainian politicians are only anti-Russian in public
There are no presidential candidates in Ukraine who are not trying to gain support from the Russian Federation in the upcoming presidential elections.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev stated this on News-Front, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is no candidate, with the exception of Vakarchuk, who would not try to negotiate with the Russian Federation. Some directly, some not directly, but everyone is trying to build relationships. This kind of policy is commonplace. At one time, Yanukovych also built relationships with both the United States and Russia,” the former regional leader recalled.
He also said that in Moscow they believe that Russia should support Yulia Tymoshenko, since she already had experience interacting with this politician.
“Many of my friends believe that we need to support Yulia Tymoshenko, because there were good relations, a lot in common, there were business contacts, there were political contacts, there were common programs,” Tsarev said.
In addition, the former Ukrainian people's deputy said that representatives of Ukrainian politics, including right-wing radicals, who only publicly express anti-Russian theses, are trying to come to an agreement with Russia.
“Even Gritsenko is trying to build some kind of relationships through certain people. Both Avakov and Ukrainian nationalists are radicals now. It is difficult to say who is not trying to interact in some way and try to enlist support from the Russian Federation. Everyone comes out with the idea that I’m like this for appearances, but in fact, I’m for constructive cooperation,” Tsarev said.
