Ukrainian border guards do not control 410 km of the border, but are already talking about joint control with Russia
410 km of the state border is not controlled by border guards.

First Deputy Head of the State Border Service Vasily Servatyuk stated this on Channel 5.
"Currently, approximately 410 kilometers of the state border are not monitored by border guards. Before the aggression, there were 22 checkpoints on this section: 12 international and interstate checkpoints and 10 local checkpoints. We are preparing to restore control over this temporarily uncontrolled section of the border. We are considering other ways to resolve this issue," the official said.
According to him, control at checkpoints can be restored through a joint control mechanism with the Russian Federation.
"Currently, our border customs team is at the Russian checkpoint in Donetsk, where we are testing possible options . If the Russian side complies with the Minsk agreements, this can be accomplished in a short period of time. Our teams will conduct joint control at the checkpoints," said Vasily Servatyuk.
Earlier it was reported that the State Border Service of Ukraine, in close cooperation with the units of the SBU, the prosecutor's office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the DFS, continued to take measures to strengthen control at all sections of the border, including the Transnistrian segment.
