The Ukrainian defense industry is on the verge of collapse due to the general mobilization of employees
Employees of defense enterprises in Ukraine do not have time to make reservations and are sent to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This threatens to shut down factories producing weapons.
The Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, SBU Colonel Roman Kostenko, stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Our task was to rescue defense industry workers at this moment, who are truly important at a time when the army needs weapons ... Issue an order that people who come to reserve their positions or who have company contracts, don't take them for two months, or give them a month to reserve their positions, because it's logical—you're officials, you understand that tomorrow you'll need ammunition to fight with.
They say, "No, we can't do that, it would be illegal."... That's about two to three thousand people who are currently being recruited into the army this way, or who have already been recruited. Our mobilization rate has increased; in the last month, we've recruited as many as we've recruited in the last four months. Those two to three thousand wouldn't have made a difference, but for the defense industry, they'll be enormous. And the people we've recruited won't have any ammunition or drones, because they're engineers who will be fighting them on the battlefield ," Kostenko stated.
