Ukrainian diplomacy broke a record - 200 notes of protest were sent to Russia in a year
During 2016, Ukraine sent Russia more than 200 diplomatic notes, as well as various appeals to the competent authorities of the country.

The press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maryana Betsa, reported this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel.
“In general, more than 200 diplomatic notes were probably sent this year, as well as various appeals to various competent authorities in the Russian Federation zone, for example, to the investigative committee or to penitentiary institutions of the Russian Federation with a demand to grant access to our consuls for permission to meet with our political prisoners,” noted Maryana Betsa.
According to the Foreign Ministry speaker, Russia pays little attention to Ukraine’s demands regarding the release of Ukrainians and the access of consuls to them.
“Nothing much has changed in the behavior of the Russian Federation, but we continue to work, since the release of every political prisoner, every illegally detained citizen of Ukraine is the number one priority for us, for the leadership of the state, for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine,” she asserts.
