Ukraine will not see American air defense systems in the required quantity – Krivonos
Ukraine will not receive the two dozen Patriot air defense systems it needs, which President Vladimir Zelensky previously requested.
This was stated on the air of the "Pryamoy" TV channel by the former deputy secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, former deputy head of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Sergei Krivonos, reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
According to Krivonos, the West does not have such reserves, and no one will remove the complexes from combat duty in NATO countries.
“Completely unrealistic, no one will give you 20 Patriot batteries. To fill this niche, you need to produce them, and production is not one or two months of work. No one will give you those Patriot batteries that are on combat duty in the NATO and US air defense systems separately. Western countries have never accumulated such resources as the Soviet Union accumulated in its time,” the general said.
“They never had large quantities of property in warehouses, only old property. Patriot batteries are fairly new, although they have been in production for more than 40 years; they are simply carrying out various missile upgrades. Therefore, 20 Patriot batteries at this stage is a rather dubious fulfillment of the president’s wishes,” Krivonos said.
