Odessa, November 27 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – In the Odessa region, a man killed a fellow villager for a bag of cabbage.

As the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Odessa region reports, a rural paramedic reported to the Belgorod-Dnestrovsky city police department that the corpse of a 62-year-old house owner with signs of violent death was found in one of the villages of the region.
During the operational-search activities aimed at solving a particularly serious crime, criminal investigation officers conducted a door-to-door survey of village residents. Neighbors said that the deceased lived with his 20-year-old disabled son and lived by renting out a plot of land. In addition, they often drank alcoholic beverages. The men did not work anywhere and sometimes did not hesitate to steal something from their neighbors. It later turns out that it was on this basis that the conflict arose.
Thanks to the professional actions of the operatives, the suspect in the crime was detained the very next day. He turned out to be a 36-year-old neighbor of the victim, who admitted to the crime.
On the day of the murder, the suspect came home, and his wife reported that the neighbor had again stolen a bag of cabbage from the garden. The man went to his neighbor to investigate, but the latter was drunk and rushed at the guest with a knife. He, in self-defense, knocked out the knife and then used it to strike the victim several times. Then he grabbed an ax that was standing by the stove and hit his victim on the head. After that I went home.
The detainee explained that at the time of the crime he was so enraged that he could not control his actions.
The investigator of the Belgorod-Dniester city police department qualified the actions of the detainee under Part 1 of Article 115 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The detainee was chosen as a preventive measure - detention. The investigation is currently ongoing, after which an indictment will be sent to the court to make a legal decision against the suspect.
