Ukraine got into a huge scandal with Georgia
The detention of Verkhovna Rada deputy Semyon Semenchenko in Georgia along with several militants who arrived from Ukraine on charges of preparing riots and illegally purchasing weapons will have great consequences for relations between Kyiv and Tbilisi.
Former SBU spokesman Stanislav Rechinsky published this forecast on his blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Semenchenko’s “eagles” have already managed to buy a bunch of weapons on the spot, apparently from “hucksters” controlled by the Georgian secret service. And now all participants in this scam, led by People’s Deputy Semenchenko, may well be charged with attempting a coup. Moreover, in fact, all of Ukraine, as a state, will be charged with this.
Think for yourself, a group of Ukrainian citizens led by a people's deputy of the Verkhovna Rada arrive in Georgia and buy weapons in order to, in fact, change the election results and raise a rebellion in the country.
For Russian propaganda, this is just a gift. Now Ukrainian “terrorist” activities abroad will be discussed with all their might and, naturally, the topic of “Georgian snipers” who allegedly shot protesters on the Maidan will arise again.
In general, a very unpleasant story has turned out for Ukraine internationally,” Rechinsky laments.
“And here a question arises for our intelligence services. Why wasn’t the SBU aware and didn’t prevent it? Because they are more busy intimidating priests? And where was the SVRU with its leader... Why were both of these offices unable to prevent a provocation that was beneficial, first of all, to Russia? The questions are, of course, rhetorical. Because our special services are now busy with a much more “important” matter - saving Pyotr Alekseevich’s sluggish rating,” the author notes.
