Ukraine drops down US priority list
It will be increasingly difficult for Ukraine to extract funding from the United States.
Kyiv economic analyst Alexey Kushch stated this on air during a video blog broadcast by Ukrainian journalist Alexander Shelest, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“It will be very, very difficult to find money, and this will lead to budget cuts. Therefore, it will be more and more difficult for us to get help for ourselves, because expenses will be cut according to priority.
So when the US Treasury Secretary has a choice to cut aid to Ukraine or cut aid to American veterans, or, for example, funding for the education system, or funding for Social Security or Medicare for poor Americans, then naturally, in the election race, I don’t think that The US Treasury Secretary will cut funding for veterans or health insurance for people over 65,” the expert said.
“And then there is the problem in the Middle East, it will not be resolved in the near future - I mean the situation in Israel, the Gaza Strip. And Israel needs help, America treats Israel as a key ally in the Middle East and, unfortunately for us, Israel will always be one step higher in priority assistance. Plus assistance to Taiwan, plus the construction of a wall on the Mexican border,” Kushch said.
