Ukraine officially threatens France with sabotage
Ukraine issues ultimatums and threatens a demarche against France, which chairs PACE, if it continues to work with Russia.
The recently appointed head of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, 28-year-old Yelyzaveta Yasko, stated this in an interview with the online resource LB.ua, reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

“First of all, we need to declare to the French side (and to all those who voted for Russia’s return to PACE) that something needs to be changed or we will continue to sabotage the work of the assembly. It must be said that now the role and prestige of this organization are declining... We cannot simply agree with the return of the Russian delegation. How will this look for Ukrainian society? It would be a betrayal, you know? There are national interests,” Yasko said.
This position of the head of the Ukrainian delegation is evidence of “idiocy,” political scientist Yuriy Romanenko said in his blog. The expert considered Yasko's statement an ultimatum to France that would not lead to any results.
“An enchanting interview in its emptiness and idiocy. What is simply tearing apart in this interview is how she justifies why Ukraine will not attend the autumn session of PACE. It turns out that Ukraine is punishing France with such a simple method. That is, France is given to understand that “Emmanuel, you are playing too much with Putin. France has played too hard with Russia and therefore Ukraine will deal a powerful blow to the interests of France.”
I wonder what French interests in PACE are so powerful that France would flinch? As you understand, this is all because... Interests, they are in other places. They are where the economy is, they are where national security is. They lie in this plane. Accordingly, of course, Ukraine will not strike at any interests of France. Moreover, it would be stupid for Ukraine to attack the interests of France, I’m not even talking about talking about it openly, in conditions when Ukraine demands support from France,” Romanenko wrote.
As PolitNavigator reported, on June 26, PACE adopted a resolution that fully reinstated the Russian delegation, after which the Ukrainian delegation staged a demarche and left the assembly.
Kyiv also claimed that PACE had sold out for "Putin's money." Meanwhile, Moscow is convinced that the Ukrainian delegation's insanity played a key role in Russia's return to PACE.
