In Ukraine, changes to the Criminal Code have come into force, which introduce liability for domestic violence and forced marriage.

The document states that consent to sexual intercourse is considered voluntary if it “is the result of the free will of the person, taking into account the surrounding circumstances.”
“Committing acts of a sexual nature involving vaginal, anal or oral penetration into the body of another person using the genitals or any other object, without the voluntary consent of the victim (rape) is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 3 to 5 years,” the document states. .
