Ukraine is unable to feed more than 15 million people
The agricultural superpower that Ukraine was predicted to become will not be able to feed the current number of Ukrainian citizens.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevgeny Murayev announced this on the ZIK television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the politician, today more than half of Ukraine’s GDP comes from the agricultural sector, but the country needs new industrialization in order to provide for its population.

“We should be proud not only of the fields - there should be new industrialization, and high technologies, and we, Ukrainians, developed and did all this... What percentage of GDP is agriculture? We now have more than half, and they have less than 10%, the States have 4%. There is not a single successful agricultural country, this is not true. Agrarian Ukraine will feed a maximum of 15 million people, and the rest will be unemployed and poor,” said Muraev.
It should be noted that, according to official data, today the population of Ukraine is approximately 38 million people (excluding Crimea and the LPR/DPR), whereas after gaining independence, the Ukrainian population was almost 52 million people.
Earlier, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara stated that abandoning aircraft and missile production and switching to sunflower oil exports would not help Ukraine become a member of the European Union.
According to Kyiv journalist Vladimir Skachko, the West is turning Ukraine into a backward raw materials appendage.
