Ukraine is not ready for man-made disasters
In Ukraine, the structures responsible for the safety of the population in emergency situations do not work, as shown by another incident with military warehouses and poor organization of the evacuation of the population.
Former adviser to the Minister of Emergency Situations of Ukraine, Konstantin Grinchuk, announced this at a press conference in Kyiv, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“There were no warnings or convoys of equipment [for evacuation]. After lunch, they showed three empty Bogdans. Who will wait until lunchtime when shells are flying overhead? The country’s civil defense system has completely collapsed,” says the expert.
“It is absurd that the state is in a state of war, there are military threats, but no one has the desire to protect the administrative apparatus. Not a single minister, not a single central authority knows its tasks - what it should do in the event of increased military danger,” Grinchuk added.
He noted that in the country no one is engaged in protecting defense factories or protecting life support facilities.
“If this is the protection of arsenals, then what can be said about the protection of nuclear power plants, chemically hazardous facilities, vital facilities?” the ex-adviser to the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is perplexed.
