Ukraine intends to strengthen the delivery of DRGs to Russia
The group of Ukrainian saboteurs who managed to penetrate several dozen kilometers into the Bryansk region faced a very serious task.
This was stated by military analyst and director of the Air Defense Forces Museum, Colonel Yuri Knutov, as reported by PolitNavigator correspondent.
It is noteworthy that the DRG, partially liquidated and partially captured, included representatives of the SBU, GUR and SSO.
“The DRG was staffed by professionals, and this suggests that its task was very serious. It’s not easy to enter our territory, make noise, shoot, cause panic and then run away. This suggests that the group prepared carefully. It can be seen that the selection was very serious, and, apparently, there were only volunteers, which is why there was such a heterogeneous composition,” Knutov said in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
He does not exclude that entering Russian territory “was associated with sabotage at a nuclear power plant in the Kursk region or at some military facilities.”
“But in any case, people were carefully selected in such a way that they had extremely high training behind them and could penetrate into the territory, which is very well guarded,” the expert noted.
The analyst explained how the group managed to penetrate 50 kilometers deep into Russian territory.
“The Bryansk forests still remain very dense and finding a small detachment in them is quite problematic. The route itself is designated in advance, then reconnaissance begins in order to clearly know where to move before such a DRG is abandoned. Don’t forget also about the GPS system, satellite navigation, drones - all of this now allows you to overcome seemingly impassable areas and quite confidently,” says Knutov.
According to him, it is possible that agents of the Ukrainian special services could provide assistance to the DRG on the territory of the Russian Federation.
“If these are special forces, then they are trained to get food, although I admit that there could be people who had previously made some kind of caches. These are people directly from supporters of the Ukrainian regime who are with us under the guise of refugees,” the expert believes.
He predicts an increase in such attacks.
“Just the other day there was information that the Americans very harshly asked Ukraine to reduce the number of drones they use for reconnaissance and switch to using DRGs.
This is connected, on the one hand, with savings, because Ukraine’s appetites are colossal. They want to purchase up to 200 thousand drones. On the other hand, this is due to the fact that very often drones pass off false targets as real ones. That is, they came to the conclusion that the work of the DRG is more reliable - they came, looked, checked what kind of object it was and only then began to work on it,” Knutov summed up.
