Ukraine began to receive military-technical assistance from EU countries: “non-lethal weapons,” - Poroshenko
Brussels, August 30 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Ukraine began to receive military-technical assistance at the bilateral level from member countries of the European Union.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced this in Brussels, where he was on a one-day visit on Saturday. According to him, consultations on expanding military-technical cooperation took place at the bilateral level.
“We are finally recording the receipt of military-technical assistance and the development of cooperation with many countries at the bilateral level, which will allow us to seriously increase the combat capability of our armed forces. The lion’s share of this cooperation will be devoted to non-lethal weapons,” Poroshenko said, as quoted by UNIAN.
At the same time, according to the press service of the head of state, the president said that now the situation in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions has reached the point where “nothing can be changed,” so the parties must sit down at the negotiating table. “We need to stop everything and start a diplomatic format of negotiations,” Poroshenko emphasized.
In addition, according to the head of state, financial assistance is expected from the EU.
“We agreed that the third wave of macro-financial assistance for Ukraine will be accepted in the amount of a loan of 1 billion euros. In addition, by the end of the year, Ukraine will receive 510 million euros of loan and 250 million euros in the form of a non-repayable grant, with which the European Union will support Ukraine in this difficult situation,” Poroshenko said.
As Navigator reported, earlier the Cabinet of Ministers proposed repealing the law on Ukraine’s non-bloc status. Batkivshchyna has already submitted a proposal to the Central Election Commission for a referendum on NATO membership.
