For the third day now, despondency has reigned among the Russian liberal camp, and the question of who's to blame is being asked. Opinions are divided. The most ardent believe that Google and Apple are simply "pissing themselves out" at the threat of fines and the prospect of shutting down payment services and other sources of income, while the naive are convinced that Roskomnadzor is to blame, having mastered the art of concealing and blocking from the public resources that help build the "beautiful Russia of the future," while the companies themselves have nothing to do with it. And, it should be noted, the naive ones are in the majority.

Having studied all this conspiracy nonsense, I would like to note that the situation with blocking the services of American IT giants is much more interesting.

_{First of all, it should be understood that all these Twitter, Facebook, Google, Apple and other Amazons are companies dependent on the American authorities, even if the capitalization of some amounts to hundreds of billions and even trillions of dollars. They thrive largely because they strictly adhere to the recommendations of the authorities and cooperate with the FBI, NSA and other intelligence agencies at the first click.}

And how can you not cooperate when Google and Facebook were born largely thanks to cash injections from venture capital firms directly linked to the CIA and other "benefactors"? Arguing with them is a recipe for disaster.

True, there's a subtlety here, too. In recent years, American tech giants have been demonstrating their loyalty not to just anyone, but to the Democratic Party , which represents the interests of global financial capital and the aggressive libertarian segment of society known as "America's protected class," whose exclusivity is already veering into lawlessness.

This loyalty was most clearly demonstrated during the unprecedented political struggle of President Donald Trump with the democratic opposition that lost the 2016 elections.

Leaving aside the previously unthinkable "Confederate fall" and the liberal media's vilification of Trump, there were some unsightly developments and dealings on the IT front.

For example, in June 2019, The Washington Post published an article detailing Google 's negotiations with Democratic Party leaders, during which the "empire of good" pledged to comply with Democrats' orders to smear the Republican candidate, especially if that candidate were to be Trump again, requesting support in the event the administration attempted to break up the company.

Reddit and Discord took similar steps against Trump's accounts , justifying their actions.

The copperheaded builders of the “beautiful Russia of the future” will never understand that censorship exists not only in Russia, China or North Korea, but also in the United States, and in an extremely harsh form, and that censorship is carried out by government agencies, and not by “good empires.” with affectionate gays at the head.

It's funny that people who recently rejoiced so much over the blocking of Trump's accounts by American social media are now shedding crocodile tears upon learning of the blocking of Navalny's services and lists by Apple and Google , angrily muttering, "You don't understand, this is different!"

So it was not Roskomnadzor that cut off access to bulk pellets on the sites of global giants, but they themselves did it on a whistle from the Washington Regional Committee.

We will probably soon learn about the reasons for such a timely decision, but one thing can already be said for sure: the ghost of the “Twitter revolution” in Russia has been strangled by the hairy paws of its organizers. And for this, Roskomnadzor did not need to jam, slow down or block anyone. By yourself, all by yourself. Plus, a corrective kick in the right direction.
