The non-working week announced in the Russian Federation will help the country cope with the spread of the new type of coronavirus.

“This is due to the numerous Russian tourists who still continue to be taken from abroad to their homeland. There are a huge number of them, and they find themselves abroad in a terrible situation - anti-epidemic! They have been evicted from hotels, they are not allowed into airports, they are hanging out in unclear places and at the same time they are in contact with unknown people. As a result, many of them, of course, bring the virus. So the process of increasing the number of cases in our country will continue until this evacuation ends,” Zuev said.
“And from here I draw a conclusion: all people who live in Russia need quarantine. Muscovites especially! So the president’s recent announcement about the upcoming non-working week is simply a most valuable gift to all of us from the country’s leadership. Although, of course, from the point of view of greater reliability, it would be better to sit at home for 2-3 months. But such long “national holidays” clearly cannot exist in real conditions. However, the announced “respite” is very important and useful,” says the scientist virologist.
According to him, even a week-long self-isolation will have a tangible effect in the fight against the spread of coronavirus, but does not rule out that the authorities will further extend these “forced holidays” to two weeks.
“However, in any case, I, as a specialist with extensive experience, am confident that the current coronavirus epidemic will eventually fade away, including thanks to the measures that are being taken in our country,” Zuev concluded.
