Zelensky announced the suspension of negotiations with Russia
Peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine have been suspended.
This was stated by Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, on air on the Current Time resource, funded by the US State Department and recognized in Russia as a foreign agent, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Podolyak accused Russia of not wanting to take Ukrainian interests into account and insisting on its own vision of the agenda.
“Today, unfortunately, Russia has returned to such an original, not entirely clear idea of the world and its role in this world. I still haven’t realized that she has been fighting against Ukraine for 85 days – not against NATO, I emphasize again, but against Ukraine. Naturally, this prevents them from adequately assessing the negotiation process.
Therefore, negotiations have been suspended until the moment when that side cannot objectively look at what they are doing, at war crimes on the one hand, at Ukraine’s position and at how we should get out of this war,” Podolyak said.
Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that negotiations were not being held because of Ukraine’s position:
“Moscow sees complete reluctance on Kyiv’s part to continue negotiations.”
