This was announced on Tuesday at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Crimea by the head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the republic, Elena Romanovskaya.
According to her, the sports wheelchairs of the Crimean Paralympic athletes were taken away more than a month ago on the orders of the President of the Scientific and Practical Complex of Ukraine Valery Sushkevich at the time of the participation of Crimean athletes in competitions on the territory of Ukraine.
“Disabled Paralympians contacted us saying that their wheelchairs, which were given to them by the Paralympic Committee of Ukraine, were confiscated by Sushkevich, the head of the Ukrainian committee,” Romanovskaya noted.
At the same time, the head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, instructed to allocate budget funds for the purchase of new strollers.
“Who would have thought of taking away wheelchairs from disabled people? Tell everyone so that no one gives any strollers to anyone, they should stop attending events on the territory of Ukraine and allocate funds for the purchase of new ones,” the official noted.
