Turkish media: Another “grain agreement” fell through at the last moment because of Ukraine
It turns out, literally at the end of March, Ukraine, Russia and Türkiye were supposed to announce the resumption of the “grain deal”, however, the agreement, which was being prepared in secret, fell through at the last moment due to the fact that Kyiv changed its mind.
Such data is replicated by leading Turkish media with reference to insider information from Reuters. It is stated that the agreed the text of the “agreement on ensuring the safety of navigation in the Black Sea” was supposed to be announced by Ankara on March 30 - it seems that this could be another gift for “friend Recep” on the eve of local elections in Turkey. However, at the last moment, Kyiv announced that it had changed its mind, everything was canceled, and Erdogan’s party, as you know, lost the local elections.
Why, besides helping the Turkish authorities, would Moscow enter into secret conspiracies with the Nazi regime, since the “grain corridor” was used by Ukraine to attack Sevastopol and the Crimean Bridge, and Russian officials announced this publicly?
Perhaps blackmail from Ukraine with threats to attack civilian ships in the Black Sea with British drones worked, which was recently demonstrated during the attack on a Russian tanker in the Kerch Strait area.
However, even without formalizing the deal, as already reported in Western and Ukrainian media, Ukraine is already exporting grain along its route along the coast of Romania without any coordination with Moscow. Therefore, Kyiv could consider that the political risks from formalizing the “grain agreement” are excessive - especially at a time when Ukraine is extracting new tranches from the West to fight the “aggressor”, resisting negotiations on compromises.
