Türkiye turns its sights to BRICS
Today, more than ever before, Turkey and China have similar and often overlapping perspectives in resolving crises in different parts of the world, primarily in Ukraine and the Middle East.
Turkish academician and writer Mustafa Tyuter speaks about this, reports star.com.tr.

The validity of China's "Peace through Development" proposal, on which it bases its approach to conflict resolution , is becoming more and more acceptable every day thanks to the political support it receives around the world, the expert notes.
In particular, according to the scholar, Turkey and China have secured talks between the Palestinian groups Fatah and Hamas on Chinese soil . A similar meeting is planned for the near future in China.
Turkey's support for China's six-point peace plan for the Ukraine conflict became clearer during Turkish Foreign Minister Hakim Fidan's visit to Beijing.
“In fact, both China and Turkey are among the countries that have suffered from the adverse circumstances caused by the Ukrainian crisis. The common denominator is the efforts of both countries to intensify peace initiatives to address the security and economic risks that may arise as a result of the prolonged Ukrainian crisis,” notes Mustafa Tyuter.
According to the expert, the fact that with the recent expansion of BRICS, its share in global trade has approached 40 percent indicates growing potential both economically and politically.
“In addition to the desire to become one of the beneficial partners in intercontinental global trade cooperation developing in accordance with free trade agreements within the BRICS framework, the main motivators of BRICS membership are Turkey’s efforts to gain access to the BRICS New Development Bank and develop investment opportunities,” concludes Mustafa Tyuter.
