Turchynov called for building an “insurmountable fortress” on the border with Russia
It is now important for Ukraine to equip the state border in the west according to European standards, and in the east, on the border with Russia, to create an insurmountable fortress.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov stated this in his congratulatory message on the occasion of Border Guard Day, the NSDC website reports.
“It is important for us today to equip the state border in the West according to European standards - convenient and reliable, and in the East - to create an insurmountable fortress. I am convinced that our border guards will adequately fulfill all the tasks that the country has set,” Turchynov emphasized.
He also told border guards that they “repel the aggressor every day.”
“Today you stand at the forefront of the defense of Ukraine, together with your brothers-in-arms from the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine, defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country. You heroically and selflessly fulfill your constitutional duty, repelling the aggressor, international terrorism and crime. ... I wish you courage, endurance and good health! Return from combat duty to your families always safe and sound!” noted the NSDC Secretary.
