Former Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, who served as acting president in 2014, Oleksandr Turchynov, made this statement on the Iceland internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Turchinov, in this way the Ukrainian army captured populated areas of the DPR and LPR, trying to reach the border with Russia.
“I had a tactic that showed its effectiveness. Every day you need to move at least one step. The Russians called it a “creeping offensive.”
That is, since 15, we have not lost a single strong point. On the contrary, we not only recaptured many strongholds from the enemy, but also populated areas.
It was a very nervous system for the Russian military, when in different sectors of the front there was a local offensive, there was a small offensive there. And we quietly, step by step, moved forward.
My approach was such that when you move one step forward every day, you can soon reach our border,” Turchinov said.
