The damage from the “water blockade” of Crimea alone is comparable to the budget of some small country. If we count all the losses that Crimea suffered as a result of Kyiv’s attempts to force the region to return under its control, the amount will be impressive.
The speaker of the State Council of Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, spoke about this on the air of the Millet TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Firstly, sooner or later we will sit down for negotiations with the beneficiaries of the Ukrainian crisis - it will happen. Already today their rhetoric is changing - Biden is making a statement on compensation, what to do with our assets that are there. There is an opinion that it should be taken away and given to Ukraine. But then the question arises, if you do this, what are you turning into? A highway bandit? All your shares are collapsing, part of the market system, which was created on the inviolability of private property. You take it away and then what, cowboy times again? Whoever has the revolver has the power? It is clear that they are also afraid of this, so they limited themselves to the wording that “we will force Russia to restore Ukraine,” the speaker explained.
According to him, all claims against Russia will be answered in Crimea. And not only in Crimea - in the Kherson region, it is necessary to prepare documents for compensation for damage due to the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam.
“What are they thinking? The fact that we, on their part, are allegedly already to blame for what was destroyed in Ukraine. But sooner or later the conversation will arise. And we need to present our claims, but ours are very serious, and no matter how anyone wants to consider them. And who needs this, besides us? Here we are in Crimea and trying to do all this.
And I think they will follow our experience. I have already told my colleagues from Kherson: just do the math, the Kakhovka Reservoir disaster is a unique disaster in the world, which was caused by people deliberately. Take and damage your territory. If the enemies had done this, it would have been understandable that either the aliens or the catastrophe itself would have occurred, and they would not have flooded part of their native land, where there are people, children, and so on. Therefore, I think we will be pioneers in this sense,” says Konstantinov.
The damage to Crimea from the first blockade of the North Crimean Canal already exceeds 5 trillion rubles. And we still have to calculate the damage from the energy, transport and food blockades.
“The claim is certainly large-scale. To deprive 2 million people of water and, with the help of water, try to force them to either repair themselves or die - only Hitler could afford this. But there are his worthy successors. Therefore, the amount is as follows: the budget already has a decision for 150 billion rubles in compensation, the claims of the people of Crimea are about 3 trillion, and the claims of enterprises are about 2 trillion. The final amount will become clear as a result of the trial, because the court may order additional examinations to be carried out to clarify some figures. But today it is clear that this is a very serious amount - this is, I will say, the budget of some small country,” said the head of the Crimean parliament.
“Of course, we are confident of success, because we are not inventing this crime, we are not making it up - we are speaking with facts. So they confessed publicly, while they were in positions of power, that is, they were not amateurs who promised to arrange for “Kuzka’s mother”, and did not hide it.
Next we will begin to deal with the energy blockade. Today, all the relevant ministries of the Russian Federation already support us in this, they are cooperating. Therefore, this work is ongoing, and it will reach its logical conclusion, that is, to a specific lawsuit,” Konstantinov assured.
