Tymoshenko: The country is collapsing, the IMF deceived Zelensky
The IMF deceived the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and did not provide Ukraine with a promised $10 billion loan, despite fulfilling all the conditions set, but Kyiv is ready to continue to fulfill the demands of international creditors.
This was stated by the former Prime Minister of the country, leader of the Batkivshchyna faction Yulia Tymoshenko during a plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Do you remember how the President of Ukraine sat here and said that if the parliament supports two bills - on the sale of agricultural land and on the surrender of the National Bank and our country in the banking sector, then the country will receive expanded lending, and we will receive up to 10 billion dollars from the IMF .
Both laws were adopted in this hall and signed by the president. Show me where the 10 billion from the IMF is? We haven’t received a single penny from the IMF, the country is collapsing,” Tymoshenko said.
She also noted that Zelensky and his team, despite previous experience, are ready to continue to fulfill the IMF’s requirements in exchange for promises of loans.
“And at the same time, a new memorandum with the IMF is being prepared and we are already talking about 1,9 billion dollars, which is incomparable with 10 billion.
And who will be responsible for the previous surrender of Ukraine and receive 10 billion dollars from the IMF? Nobody, as far as I understand. And then a situation arises when the IMF set us new conditions - increasing tariffs, raising the retirement age, further destruction of the banking system, and many others, including strengthening the sale of agricultural land,” the parliamentarian added.
