Tenyukh: If Crimea had not been surrendered, Putin would have carried out a blitzkrieg and captured Kyiv
Kyiv, September 06 (PolitNavigator, Yuri Kovalchuk) – Crimea was necessary to surrender to Russia, since at that moment Putin was preparing for a blitzkrieg that was supposed to end in Kiev, ex-head of the Ministry of Defense Igor Tenyukh said on Channel 5.

“We did everything that could be done in Crimea and on the mainland. The situation was terrible - there was one battery for ten tanks, no fuel, no aviation gasoline, nothing. We deployed armed forces that had not moved for 23 years. Crimea was already ready to surrender; there was betrayal there.
At the same time, it was necessary to save continental Ukraine, because there was a 65-strong group on the border from Chernigov to Mariupol, and there was not a single military unit there. Putin was planning a blitzkrieg that was supposed to end on March 8 in Kyiv. We were not ready for a hybrid war, so if we had not given up Crimea, we would have lost Kyiv. Putin went to Crimea for a reason,” Tenyukh asserts.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the head of the Center for Military-Political Research, Dmitry Tymchuk, said that Russia would try to break through a “land corridor” to Crimea.
