Verkhovna Rada deputy, Ukrainian oligarch Sergei Taruta stated this in an interview with Kraina magazine, answering the question of why interest in Ukraine is falling in the world.
He said that he took part in the Munich Security Conference for four years in a row.
"This year, Ukraine was discussed only in terms of the implementation of the Minsk agreements. It was said that there was no alternative to them or to the Normandy format. Petro Poroshenko was practically the last to speak. Of the 35 people in the room during the president's speech, about a dozen and a half represented the Ukrainian delegation. It was shameful. There was no significant attention paid to a country whose citizens are shedding blood on the front lines," lamented the source.
He also called the speech of German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel “landmark”.
“He said that without Russia the issue of peacekeepers will not be resolved, and sanctions must be gradually lifted in order to interest her,” Taruta added.
