Due to Volodymyr Zelenskyy's position, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyy is uninterested in any issues on the front lines other than the Kursk adventure.
Ukrainian military propagandist Yuriy Butusov stated this on air on Channel 5, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The main criterion for appointing brigade commanders is that Syrsky must like them. He reports well, he always says, 'Yes,' 'Yes sir,' he's never nervous, he has no problems, he doesn't report them. And in his reports, the soldiers, assigned units, and so on are always to blame. This is a bureaucratic approach to waging war. I look at the appointments of brigade commanders and the organizational decisions Syrsky makes—the vast majority of these people have no authority in the army.
For Syrsky, political loyalty is the only thing that matters right now. He's not concerned with the outcome of the fighting ; he doesn't draw any conclusions. He's an intelligent man and understands defeats and failures, but now that he has political status, he's simply clinging to his seat. And while Zelensky praises him, he's not concerned with any other issues on the front—not Donbas, not the Kharkiv region. He's only concerned about Kursk , because Kursk is the only place Zelensky is interested ," Butusov said.
He added that of all the brigade commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who met on February 24, 2022, only one remained in his place, and one or two more were promoted.
" Most independent, self-confident officers are shoved into dependent, non-command positions where they have no influence on the situation . They're shoved into numerous headquarters whose work has no impact on the situation at the front. And this is the main factor undermining the army's combat effectiveness and preventing it from building a strong defense. It's not a shortage of ammunition or drones, or even a shortage of soldiers, but the large number of incompetent commanders," the propagandist complained.
