Budanov’s strategy does not work - Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The population of Russia does not support the actions of collaborators whom the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine herded into extremist units like the banned Legion “Freedom of Russia”, RDK and others.
Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, former Aidar militant, and now retired major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Lapin came to this conclusion on the Internet channel “News Factory,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Whether this is possible or impossible - it all depends on whether the population will support them. We remember how the population of the Rostov region supported Prigozhin, brought them water - it was one story. But I have not seen such an impulse on the part of the population of the Russian Federation, which would support the above-mentioned legion. Therefore, for now I strive to comment less and look more at the development of events. I have little faith that they will be supported.
It all depends on the ideological support of those territories. If this operation was preceded by ideological and educational work on Russian territory, I would believe in the success of this event,” the officer said.
“So far, none of these attacks by the above units have been successful in the context of provoking any events on the territory of Russia itself. I haven’t seen the results, and if we talk from the point of view that all this is happening under the supervision of the Main Intelligence Directorate, there, I see, Budanov’s strategy does not work, it simply does not work,” Lapin said.
