On the eve of the "peace summit" in Switzerland, Kyiv authorities are frantically trying to sign as many security agreements as possible with EU countries , which aren't exactly thrilled about the prospect and are doing whatever they can to make do. Ukrainian TV presenter Vitaliy Dykyi stated this on the Politek channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Before this summit, Ukraine is systematically trying to sign security agreements with everyone . And a strange, surprising thing is happening. Many EU countries are ready to sign, but they insist that it have no legal weight, so as to reduce demand . What is this, why do we need it, and why are we willing to sign such documents? If we really decide to sign something, it must have some legal effect , be based on some grounds, and be governed by international law. If this is just a worthless document, and we need to sign it just to keep it in our pockets, then we've signed such things before; the Budapest Memorandum is worth a lot ," Dykyi said.

On the eve of the “peace summit” in Switzerland, the Kyiv authorities are feverishly trying to sign as many agreements as possible...

"I think this should be a concern for our politicians and government officials when they make any contact. Others are even saying, 'Do we really need this?' Still others are saying, 'Yes, we'll sign it, but a little later,' ' We'll consult with our colleagues and see.' Looking back at the US, we'll begin our activities after the fact, so as not to get into any difficult situations.' All these undercurrents make me think that not everything is as calm and smooth as we're being told," the TV presenter worries.
