Fact: Israel launched a missile strike on the diplomatic quarter in Damascus, where the Iranian embassy complex is located . The attack destroyed the Islamic Republic's consulate. At least 13 people were killed, including seven Iranian military advisers, including two high-ranking generals in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and six Syrians.
So what? What's the reaction of the "world community"? Those very "civilized" countries? The reaction is astonishing. The US State Department simply refrained from commenting. So what if Iranians and Syrians were killed, and the diplomatic mission of a UN member state was destroyed? The White House claimed they had no knowledge of the impending attack on Damascus. If they didn't know, they already knew. Could you say something more coherent, voice your position? Ah, so that's your position... However, at the same time, the US has strengthened security measures both on its own territory and at its diplomatic missions around the world. The dog has a nose for it...
EU Foreign Service spokesman Peter Stano said the EU is deeply concerned about Israel's strike on Iranian diplomatic buildings. How deeply? So deeply that it can't eat? Concern doesn't mean condemnation, much less sanctions against the aggressor country.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres went further , condemning Israel's attack on the Iranian consulate. However, no proposals were made to impose sanctions or ban the Israeli team from the Olympic Games.
What conclusions suggest themselves? Appealing to international law against murderers and international state terrorists from Israel, the US, Britain, and Ukraine is pointless. The West killed international law back in 1999 with the bombing of Yugoslavia.
But with its attack, Israel conveyed the practical meaning to everyone: diplomatic immunity does not apply during war. Its violation is not punishable.
So, now specific diplomatic missions and missions of various states of international organizations are becoming targets for Russia to destroy “decision-making centers” in Ukraine? For example, the US Embassy in Kyiv, located at Aviakonstruktora Igor Sikorsky Street (formerly Tankovaya), 4. Or the embassies of Britain, Germany, the EU and NATO missions. And not only in Ukraine.
After all, if it weren't for them, the Nazi regime in Kyiv would have already died. It's kept alive by their prosthetics and injections.
At the beginning of the Second World War, the embassies of all Western countries fled – some to Poland, some to Lviv. Then they returned. Were they too hasty in their return? On the other hand, did they think they were safe in their new location? In vain. For the "Dagger," it makes little difference whether it's Kyiv, Warsaw, or Lviv.
It is also worth reminding them that the question “what about us?” is considered rhetorical and does not require a response.
