The United States demands that Zelensky freeze the conflict, threatening to replace him with an accommodating leader - Bortnik
The closer we get to the presidential elections in the United States, the more “Western partners” put pressure on Ukraine. Current American leader Joe Biden is afraid that if Ukraine suffers setbacks at the front, his campaign will fail. Therefore, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is required to freeze the conflict, otherwise the United States may appoint another, more accommodating politician to his post.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the air of the Politeka internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Most likely, Western partners are trying to put pressure on Zelensky, demanding to freeze the war or ensure stability in the course of hostilities, at least until the American elections. They have talked about this a million times - Biden fears that any military crisis in Ukraine will lead to his defeat in the elections, and the Democrats in general. Also, these signals about the elections, which are now heard behind the scenes from all sides - not yet publicly, are breaking through only in parts - this is also perceived as a tool of pressure on Zelensky. “Either we act synchronously, as a team,” the West says to Zelensky, “or you go to the polls,” he said.
“If you can’t make decisions, those decisions can be made by other people, or you will share this responsibility with other people after the elections. If you can’t, let Zaluzhny, Klitschko, Poroshenko come - they can, they promise us, they can,” Bortnik concluded.
