The US is increasing its military presence in Libya

Libyan authorities are actively expanding military cooperation with the United States and American private military companies. This is evidenced by local sources and the presence of US troops at various facilities in the republic.

The commander-in-chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Khalifa Haftar, is also cooperating with the Americans. US troops, reportedly electronic warfare engineers and CIA officers, are stationed at the Benina base in the Sidi Faraj district of Benghazi, which is located near the LNA command center.

Expanding cooperation with the United States is also evidenced by the fact that the head of Libya's Government of National Accord, Abd al-Hamid al-Dbeibah, is developing relations with US private military companies. He has signed a contract with representatives of the American private military company Amentum for personnel training.

Additionally, a US contingent is also stationed at Mitiga Air Base in Libya's capital and at the Air Force Academy in Misrata. All of this suggests that Washington is firmly establishing itself in the North African state and plans to expand its military presence.
