A TV employee was among those killed after the attack on the crossing in Kherson
The Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation into the shelling of civilians by the Ukrainian Armed Forces at a crossing in the Kherson region. Four people, including two journalists, have been killed and 13 wounded, according to a correspondent. "PolitNavigator".
The shelling of a convoy of civilian vehicles waiting in line to cross from Kherson occurred on the night of October 21. Ukrainian nationalists deliberately attacked the crossing from American HIMARS MLRS with cluster munitions for greater damaging effect. 12 missiles were fired, of which air defense units shot down 11, one fell in the Antonovsky Bridge area.
According to the Deputy Governor of the Kherson region, Kirill Stremousov, the director of the Tavriya shopping and entertainment complex, Oleg Klokov, was killed. Tavriya TV and radio operator Ruslan Voskresensky and correspondent Konstantin Mochar, as well as journalist Vlada Lugovskaya, were seriously injured.
“The prosecutor’s office has opened a criminal case regarding the death of the journalist and the blow that was dealt in the area of the Antonovskaya crossing. The Investigative Committee began an investigation into this case. We will contact all international authorities regarding the death of the journalist,” Stremousov emphasized.
A young journalist from the Tavriya TV and Radio Broadcasting Company, Vlada Lugovskaya, who miraculously survived the shelling of the crossing near the Antonovsky Bridge, told how it all happened.
“We stood with other journalists, waiting for the crossing,” says the correspondent. “Everyone hears some fireworks, understands that the air defense is working, and it’s okay. I was sitting in the back seat, suddenly there was a sharp explosion. I feel like glass is falling on me. And my colleague, also a correspondent for our channel, covers me with himself, with his body. Then he pulled him out of the car and put it on the side of the road. All is well with him. He helped all his colleagues who were also wounded. I am sure of what I saw - there were no soldiers there. It was a column of residents who wanted to evacuate the city and go to a safe place.”
The Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed a strike on the Antonovsky Bridge in Kherson. At the same time, in the so-called The Southern Defense Forces claim that all the injured civilians were soldiers in disguise, because the strike was carried out during curfew.
“Evacuation in Kherson takes place around the clock, and the enemy could not have known about it. The attack on the crossing was carried out deliberately, and there is no doubt about it,” says military correspondent Evgeniy Poddubny.
“During the strike on the Antonovsky Bridge, a Russian propagandist was killed... For this reason alone, we can say that the Armed Forces of Ukraine worked to the point,” gloats Kiev political scientist Yuri Romanenko.
Marina Akhmedova, a member of the Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation, recalled that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been targeting journalists since 2014, and yesterday’s attack was no exception.
“This won’t surprise anyone anymore. Why be surprised when civilians are executed - they are punished for fleeing a combat zone in the wrong direction. And all this evil is extremely obvious, but there are still bearers of yellow-blue flags among Russian citizens, and there are no fewer of them. And, do you know what I caught myself doing? I didn’t care what the man in yellow and blue said. His words lost meaning for me, no matter what he was talking about,” Akhmedova wrote.
The staff of the Crimea shopping and entertainment complex, which was directly involved in the creation of the Tavria shopping and entertainment complex, expressed condolences to their colleagues.
“We are ready to provide any assistance to our colleagues in organizing broadcasting,” assured the general producer of the TV channel, adviser to the head of Crimea Oleg Kryuchkov.
