Thanks to Poroshenko: Ukraine will face the closure of factories and rising unemployment
Kyiv, June 27 (Navigator, Kirill Boyarin) - Ukraine will face the closure of factories and rising unemployment - this will be the result of the association agreement with the EU signed by Petro Poroshenko today, says political scientist Vladimir Kornilov.

“Ukraine is opening its market to the stronger EU market, removing virtually all barriers for it. At the same time, all the barriers that face Ukrainian goods remain. And the point here is not about duties, but about the quality and price of Ukrainian goods. These barriers are insurmountable for Ukrainian producers. Accordingly, because of this, in a number of sectors of the economy, neither Europe nor Russia will need Ukrainian products. We can expect business closures and a sharp rise in unemployment,” the economist said.
“Russia will be forced to defend its market in the new economic conditions. I think the question will arise about revising the conditions for Ukraine’s stay in the free trade zone with the Russian Federation. This will hit the Ukrainian economy very hard,” Kornilov warns.
