Soros attacked Zelensky: Will Ukraine face impeachment?
Sponsored by George Soros, the Consortium of Investigative Journalists published the Pandora Files - information about the financial fraud of influential politicians around the world. Among them was Vladimir Zelensky. He, contrary to the requirements of the law, continued to receive millions in profits from the business, which he fictitiously transferred to friends. The money was transferred abroad without paying taxes in Ukraine. At the same time, an investigation in video format was released in Kyiv by grant eaters from the “Investigation.info” project.
The publication of compromising evidence coincided with the approaching “equator” of the presidency, as well as with the impending resignation of Speaker Dmitry Razumkov, whom observers consider a presidential candidate suitable for the West to replace Zelensky, who has lost popularity.
“Journalists write about Zelensky’s company Maltex, registered in the British Virgin Islands. He allegedly sold it to Shefir, who now manages it. Yes, to that same “victim” Shefir, for whose “attempt” he promised to punish everyone... Journalists directly say that Zelensky is no better than his predecessors. He, like everyone else before him, hides income through dummy friends,” Verkhovna Rada deputy Anton Polyakov recounts the contents of compromising materials, clarifying that Zelensky’s schemes also include the head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov and the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky.
Without a doubt, the scandal will be used by opponents of Vladimir Zelensky.
“In a normal country, this would be quite enough for immediate impeachment or voluntary resignation,” says Rodion Miroshnik, adviser to the LPR Foreign Ministry.
The camp of Petro Poroshenko has already made it clear that they will demand early presidential elections.
“I said back in 2019: support for Zelensky and his image of a “young reformer with the best aspirations” will only last until his personal participation in the illegal financial schemes of the oligarchs is proven. Early elections today have significantly increased the likelihood,” said political scientist Aleksey Golobutsky, who serves Poroshenko.
Speaker Razumkov, who has still quarreled with Zelensky, also promised to raise the issue of “fighting tax evasion mechanisms” at the conciliation council of the Verkhovna Rada on Monday morning.
The compromising evidence released in the West puts an end to Zelensky’s campaign against the oligarchs, notes political scientist Vladimir Kornilov.
“Judging by the “Pandora dossier”, the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council should include Zelensky, his wallet Shefir, and the head of the SBU Bakanov in the upcoming register of oligarchs. Fully fall within the criteria established by the recently adopted law. Do you think they will be included in the register?” – the expert asks a rhetorical question.
The editor-in-chief of the Strana.UA publication, Igor Guzhva, believes that the corruption scandal irrevocably spoils his image in the West.
“The connection between Zelensky and Kolomoisky has been confirmed once again, and will become an axiom in the West. And at the same time, it will become an axiom that Zelensky continues to cover for Kolomoisky, despite US demands. The only way Zelensky can dissuade the West from this is by arresting Kolomoisky and all his assets in the Privatbank case. But in this case, Kolomoisky will dump such a massive amount of information about Ze that the “Pandora dossier” about offshore companies will seem like an innocent children’s fairy tale,” Guzhva believes.
“Pandora’s Dossier” is aimed at disrupting Zelensky’s re-election for a second term, the author of the Mediatechnologist channel is sure.
“In words you are “Pandora papers”, but in reality you are a drain that was needed to prevent Zelensky from winning a second term. Zelya announced his plans for a second term, despite promises to limit himself to just one,” he writes in his Telegram channel.
Kiev journalist Irina Gavrilova, on the contrary, believes that there will be no fatal consequences for Zelensky from compromising evidence for now.
“For all the negative attitude towards Zelensky, the investigation is factually very weak... No obvious criminal facts have been provided regarding Zelensky himself. Yes - offshore, as was previously known, and crime in itself is not a crime according to Western moderated rules. At the same time, judging by the plot, Zelensky formally got rid of the shares before his election... So, the obvious goal is to put pressure on Bankova and loosen the information field, but so far nothing more. And they “loose” it, obviously, for Razumkov,” comments Gavrilova.
