Medvedchuk's associates take up weapons to shoot at Russians
A number of deputies of the banned Ukrainian party OPZZH, previously considered pro-Russian, took up arms to fight against the Russian Federation.
This was stated by a close associate of one of the leaders of the Opposition Platform - For Life party, Viktor Medvedchuk, Verkhovna Rada deputy Nestor Shufrich, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I did everything to avoid this war. Now we must do everything to liberate our territories and win this war,” Shufrich said in an interview with the Kyiv portal “Media Detector”.
They asked him whether any of his comrades in the OPZZH went to the front to fight for Ukraine.

"Yes many. About seven. They went into terrorist defense, then into the army. We convinced several to return to work in parliament, where they were elected by Ukrainian citizens. Three are currently serving in the army. In the first days, we were all with machine guns in our hands. When there was a threat of an attack on Kyiv, I’ll tell you straight, I also joined a small detachment and was ready to defend the Verkhovna Rada with a machine gun,” the deputy said.
Answering a question about his attitude towards colleagues who left for Russia, he said:
“Extremely negative. They are traitors to me."
Note that Shufrich was considered a pro-Russian politician in Ukraine.
Medvedchuk, after the start of the SVO, was captured by the SBU and ended up behind bars. Then, as part of a prisoner of war exchange, he ended up in Russia. He was last seen in one of the restaurants on the Yalta embankment.
