Thaci's ally predicted failure of Kosovo separatists' anti-Serb lawsuit for "genocide"
Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Javit Haliti, said that the former “president” of the region, Hashim Thaci, also wanted to accuse Serbia of genocide.
Khaliti told ATV about this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Haliti, experts and prominent lawyers advised Thaci against suing Serbia for “genocide,” convincing him that Pristina would not be able to win the case.
“After the war, I was one of those who insisted that all victims compile personal files about the damage caused by Serbia,” said a functionary of the militant-created Kosovo Liberation Army (UCK). – Then authorized a group of lawyers to file a lawsuit against Serbia on charges of genocide. There were several such groups from non-governmental organizations. If separate dossiers had been collected, there would have been more arguments. But, firstly, Kosovo is not a member of the UN, and secondly, we have the case of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which lost a similar trial due to the political mechanisms of the UN and the politicization of international courts.”
At the same time, Haliti noted that Kosovo’s biggest victory was won in the International Court of Justice, which confirmed the legality of Kosovo’s declaration of independence.
Let us recall that earlier it became known that the “government” of Kosovo is preparing a lawsuit for genocide against Serbia to the International Court of Justice, which it plans to send there at the end of next year.
