The investigator revealed the details of the murder of Yaponchik
Russian law enforcement agencies managed to solve the 2009 murder of crime boss and thief in law Vyacheslav Ivankov, nicknamed Yaponchik, in Moscow thanks to modern forensic methods.
This was stated by Rostislav Rassokhov, Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, in an interview with Kommersant, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent , in response to a question about whether this murder was connected to the shooting of crime boss Aslan Usoyan (Ded Khasan).
“It was not possible to solve the murder of Yaponchik, committed in 2009, without delay, largely due to the imperfection of technology. Let me remind you that the crime boss was shot dead at the exit from the Thai Elephant restaurant. They shot from an SVD sniper rifle from a Gazelle parked not far from the establishment. The car, as it turned out later, was purchased using forged documents and converted into a mobile sniper point,” said Rassokhov.
He clarified that the criminals observed careful measures of secrecy, but in the end, thanks to, among other things, modern forensic tools and the capabilities of molecular genetics, they were able to identify the suspects. As a result, everyone involved in organizing and committing the murder was identified, four of them were arrested, and the whereabouts of the rest are being established.
“They are all natives of Transcaucasia. And the main motive for the murder of Ivankov was the personal hostility towards him of the organizer of the crime - thief in law Ilya Simoniya (Makho). The conflict between them began back in the 80s of the last century, when both were serving sentences in colonies in the Irkutsk region. Information that those accused of killing Yaponchik were involved in the death of Ded Khasan was not received during the investigation,” said the deputy chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
