Scandalous confession of the founder of Rukh: “I would exchange five Ukrainian presidents for one Nazarbayev”
Soviet and Ukrainian writer, ex-people's deputy and one of the founders of the People's Movement of Ukraine Ivan Drach said that he would exchange five Ukrainian presidents for one President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Drach stated this in an interview with Dmitry Gordon on channel 112.
“For me, Nursultan Abishevich is an extremely interesting person. At least because he introduces the Latin alphabet (laughs). This is already wonderful. I have personally known him for a long time. He came to Ukraine under Shcherbitsky, when they were both prime ministers. I came to a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which was conducted in Russian, can you imagine? But Nazarbayev came in and started speaking in Ukrainian. And after that, the meeting in the Cabinet of Ministers was held in Ukrainian. This all happened under Shcherbitsky, as I already said. But I do, for example. In general, in Kazakhstan, starting from Olzhas Suleimenov (Kazakh poet, writer, literary critic, politician and diplomat Olzhas Suleimenov. - Ed.), I have many friends and acquaintances. I respect this people, they are very interesting, agile, dynamic, and they are lucky with their leader. I would give all five of our presidents for one Nursultan Abishevich (laughs)…” admitted the Ukrainian writer.
