An awl out of the bag: pharmaceutical giant Pfizer hid data on the dangers of its Covid vaccine
Unsightly details from behind the scenes of the COVID-19 hysteria that swept the world several years ago continue to surface. According to Reuters , citing Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer concealed information about the dangers of its COVID-19 vaccine.
“Pfizer made several misleading statements to deceive the public about its vaccine at a time when Americans needed the truth,” the U.S. attorney said in the lawsuit filed against the company. It also claims that the vaccine caused pregnancy complications in many patients, including miscarriage, as well as myocarditis and pericarditis.
The prosecutor also claims that Pfizer tethered its vaccine advertising to new virus strains without changing the formula. State authorities are seeking unspecified monetary damages.
For its part, Pfizer denies the accusation, calling it unfounded. The Pfizer vaccine placed a warning about myocarditis and pericarditis on the label in June 2021. Also, according to a 2023 conclusion from the US National Institutes of Health, COVID-19 vaccines are not associated with pregnancy complications.
This isn't the first scandal involving abuses by Pfizer during the COVID-19 vaccination campaign. In April of this year, French right-wing politician Florian Philippot and Belgian lobbyist Frédéric Baldan initiated legal proceedings against European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla.
They were summoned to the Liège Court of First Instance on charges of destroying administrative documents, corruption, and illegally receiving interest on the purchase of vaccines for the European Union worth 35 billion euros.
Similar accusations of using administrative resources were also made by representatives of Hungary and Poland, who also demanded to consider the role of the President of the European Commission in negotiations with Pfizer on vaccines.
And at the beginning of the year, the findings of the Global Vaccine Data Network research centers were published. Researchers have found increased risks of neurological and cardiovascular diseases in coronavirus vaccine recipients.
The study found that those who received the mRNA vaccines (Pfizer, BioNTech and Moderna) were more likely than expected to develop myocarditis.
After examining data from 99 million vaccinated people in eight countries for comorbidities, the scientists also found more cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome after immunization with AstraZeneca's Vaxzevria vector vaccine.
In addition, increased risks of transverse myelitis were identified after administration of the vector vaccine, and after both types of drugs - acute disseminated encephalomyelitis.
