Shevchenko: We are proud that we are teaching NATO to fight the Russians
Canadian soldiers are allegedly learning trench warfare and electronic warfare from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada Andriy Shevchenko announced this on Hromadske Radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Shevchenko, we are talking about joint Unifire training with the Canadian military, which has been taking place since 2015 at the Yavorov training ground in the Lviv region.
“There is this Unifire training mission where Canadians train our soldiers and officers, and over 14 thousand have already gone through this training. But just as importantly, through these trainings, Canadians learn from us. And I was extremely pleased at the Yavorovsky training ground to hear how the Canadian military told their minister or prime minister about the lessons they learned from our soldiers.
This applies to trench warfare, electronic warfare methods, and hybrid warfare. You feel very proud, and then you understand - we have a unique experience of fighting the second most powerful army in the world, we pay a colossal price for this experience, we pay with the lives of our fighters. Therefore, we need to make the most of this experience and share it with our partners. Such as Canada, and with other NATO partners,” Shevchenko said.
It is noteworthy that Shevchenko himself privately recognized Crimea's Russian status.
