Moscow does not rule out that it will challenge in court US attempts to prevent the completion of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated this in an interview with Russian media, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to him, the gas pipeline will be completed, but if the United States continues to try to disrupt the completion of the project, then Russia may challenge these actions in court.

“You just need to understand which court you can go to. We need to look at where these disputes are being considered,” says Medvedev.

He notes that Moscow can even appeal to an American court, although he admits that they may take a “biased position.”

However, expert at the Academy of Financial and Investment Management Alexey Krichevsky believes that the matter will not reach the courts.

“The project is 90% ready and there is no chance that the pipe will be frozen at the last stage. The Russian authorities will not go to court in order to show strength and democracy - there is no practical sense in this,” Krichevsky emphasized in a comment to Moskovsky Komsomolets.
