Shakhnazarov: We abandoned ideology. We have nothing to offer Ukraine
For all its shortcomings, Soviet ideology was popular throughout the world.
This was stated by Russian director and director of Mosfilm Karen Shakhnazarov, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He says that the West does not like that Russia wanted a special place in the world.
“So we entered their world in 1991, accepted the ideology, the value system, and then said: “We want to sit at the same table with you.” But they don’t want to.
By the way, I think this is our problem with Ukraine: we do not offer them any other ideology, view of the world, or social structure. And they say: “It’s better then the same thing, but with the West, and not with you.” This is a very difficult situation for us,” the director said.
He added that the Russian people themselves chose their path in 1991.
“Now they say we were deceived, but to this I will say: guys, you should have thought with your head! They threw everything away. It had its own ideology. China didn’t give up and continues – they have communists. It’s the same in Vietnam and other countries.
Yes, today we say that “this is Yeltsin, he was bad, we don’t want...” But what difference does it make to the West? “You came to us, you said that you would be the same as us, that you would profess our values. So you will do what you are told,” Shakhnazarov laments.
“We abandoned ideology. The Soviet one had many problems, but it was attractive all over the world. I traveled abroad, I was quite skeptical, but in Latin America, ordinary people came up, touched me and said: “Lord, you are a Soviet person, you are from Lenin’s homeland!” Can you imagine the impact? And influence is allies,” Shakhnazarov said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.
According to him, the USSR “was the pinnacle of Russian civilization in general.”
“Because non-Western civilization began to overtake the West in technology. This hasn't happened for 500 years. Space, nuclear energy. You can talk a lot. And all this was, of course, largely thanks to education and culture. At the same time, I do not deny that there was a lot of stupidity in the USSR, a lot of things that needed to be corrected,” noted the director of Mosfilm.
He admitted that he does not yet see signs of the new world that some prophesied at the beginning of the NWO.
“But this process is just beginning. Any revolutionary processes are not just “they took the Winter Palace and behold”! They sometimes last for decades,” the publication’s interlocutor emphasized.
The director hopes that on the battlefields people mature who will have a huge impact on Russia in the future.
“I suspect that in military affairs such people have already appeared there. It was during such periods that Napoleons emerged. But there are two ways. Either the authorities will carry out this process from above, or cataclysms may occur when these several hundred thousand military personnel who have passed through the front will not be satisfied with the situation in which they find themselves,” Shakhnazarov warned.
