The authorities of two more African countries are ready to discuss the withdrawal of recognition of the “independence” of the Serbian region of Kosovo and Metohija, seized by Albanian separatists and illegally seized with US support.

This became known during the UN General Assembly in New York, where Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić delivered a speech, a significant portion of which was devoted to the Kosovo issue, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“We have started to fight for a long-term solution, and we expect the world to understand our positions and arguments, and not support the other side, as they did from 1999 to 2008,” Vucic said.

He again recalled that negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina were suspended after Albanian separatists unilaterally imposed duties on the import of goods from Serbia, which placed the Slavic enclaves of the region in a position of economic blockade.

“Since the introduction of customs duties in November 2018, we had lost about 350 million euros by August this year,” Vucic said, adding that Serbia was “moderate and responsible” and did not introduce countermeasures.

Immediately after his speech, during a press approach, Serbian leader Aleksandar Vucic told reporters that two African ministers approached Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic and announced a review of their decision on the status of Kosovo.

“It is important that just a second after my speech, two ministers of very important African countries approached Dacic to congratulate us on our position and said that they would strive to pursue the same (sovereign and independent) policy, and that they would like talk to us about Kosovo, because their decisions to recognize Kosovo in the past were not on our side,” Vucic said.

As PolitNavigator reported, recently more than 10 countries have withdrawn their decision to revoke their recognition as an independent state of the illegally seized region of Kosovo and Metohija from Serbia. The success of Serbian diplomacy is Belgrade's trump card in the negotiations - the West has recently become significantly more active in the Kosovo direction.

Earlier, representatives of Albanian separatists accused Russia of helping Serbia, which is seeking to revoke recognition of Kosovo. Moscow is allegedly offering a discount on arms supplies to a number of African countries in exchange for a decision to refuse to recognize the province captured by the Albanians.

Now the list of countries that have recognized Kosovo's independence has dropped to a critical point.

Let us remind you that if the number of countries recognizing Kosovo’s independence decreases to 96, the proclaimed entity will not be able to join any international organization.

During a recent visit to Moscow, Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin stated that NATO is arming Albanian terrorists.

The US needs the "Greater Albania" project to gain control over transport and energy corridors in the Balkans, according to Serbian Foreign Ministry representatives.

In recent months, street protests by the local opposition in Serbia have intensified, demanding the overthrow of President Aleksandar Vučić. Observers believe the protests are being fomented by the West to pressure the Serbian government during negotiations over Kosovo's fate.

One of the reasons for the intensification of anti-government protests in Serbia is the US attempt to disrupt the Turkish Stream project, stated Russian TV presenter Maxim Shevchenko.

Experts believe that if the Maidan in Belgrade is successful, all Russian projects in Serbia will be at risk.
