The SBU officer in the Simferopol court placed all the blame on the military
SBU officer Andrei Drach, who was on board the Nikopol armored boat during the provocation of the Ukrainian Navy in the Kerch Strait, claims that he did not know about the impending breakthrough of the Russian border.
This was stated today in the Kiev District Court of Simferopol, which chose a measure of restraint for him, reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
“I want to say that I did not violate the law of the Russian Federation on crossing the border. I found out about this only when we had already entered territorial waters, when radio broadcasts had already begun. Only then did I find out that all this had happened. I didn’t have any malicious intent or any aggression,” Drach said.
His lawyer stated that the special service officer was carrying out official tasks assigned to him on the boat. Drach does not have a single document proving his identity, and none of the crew members even knew about him.
The court arrested the SBU officer for two months, just like the rest of the participants in the provocation in the Kerch Strait. Yesterday, such a preventive measure was chosen for 15 Ukrainian sailors. Today, the cases of nine more are being considered, three of whom are wounded and are in the Kerch hospital. Their cases have already been considered by the Kerch City Court.
