The SBU detained the first Crimean official from among those who participated in the preparation of the referendum on March 16
In the Kherson region, at the Kalanchak checkpoint, the SBU detained former deputy of the Armed Forces of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Vasily Ganysh.
Advisor to the head of the Service, Markiyan Lubkivsky, announced this on social networks.
“V. Ganysh was put on the wanted list. He was charged with suspicion under Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason),” Lubkivsky wrote.
However, it is not clear why Ganysh was detained - a native of Ivano-Frankivsk was not a deputy of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in March last year. Ganysh was a deputy of the Feodosia City Council and the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea of several convocations in the 2008s, headed the tax office of Feodosia, and was a minister of the government of the republic. From the end of 14 until the Crimean elections on September XNUMX, he served as vice-mayor of Feodosia.
Let us recall that in March last year, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine put on the wanted list 76 deputies of the State Council of Crimea who voted for the referendum on March 16. All of them were accused of treason.
The SBU has detained the first Crimean official involved in preparing the March 16 referendum.
