The SBU explained who should not be monitored. And this is not Zelensky
The long-running scandal surrounding the illegal surveillance of Kyiv grant-eaters from the Bihus.Info project and the subsequent reaction from Ukraine's pro-Western media community, which I wrote about in a previous column , has taken an unexpected turn.
Since the authorities went into deep unconsciousness, the “drowning people” took the matter of their own salvation into their own hands and conducted an investigation, the results of which were suddenly brought to the attention of the Department for the Protection of National Statehood of the SBU - it was this division of the “Izbushka”, according to the grant eaters, that carried out illegal surveillance of them.

The Bigus investigation found that the surveillance was carried out by 30 people
“The day before Bihus.Info’s foray into a country complex, an interesting group of characters held their “corporate party” there. They booked houses using disposable SIM cards, came to cover numbers and brought huge suitcases with them,” says project founder Denis Bigus.
Places where hidden cameras were located were discovered. We are talking about the territory of the well-known in narrow circles and very elite entertainment complex “Ukrainian Village” near Kiev. There were “bugs” in all the hotel rooms of the employees and even in the sauna. Without particularly bothering, the agents booked all the rooms of Bigus’s office employees the day before their arrival and immediately after their departure.
All these details, naturally, were posted on the Internet and, surprisingly, the reaction from the authorities was lightning fast. Already, on January 31, the head of the SBU department that was burned during illegal surveillance, Roman Semenchenko, was fired without any explanation by Zelensky’s decree, despite the fact that he himself, in a telephone conversation with Bigus journalists, denied his involvement in the scandalous special operation.
Moreover, for some reason the SBU decided to justify itself and on the day the presidential decree was issued they published the following comment on their website:
“We are aware that we are defending a democratic Ukraine, in which the strengthening of national statehood is one of the key priorities, the implementation of which should ensure, among other things, the unhindered work of the media and guarantee them an adequate level of security.”
In addition, “Izbushka” was promised “personnel decisions.”
Naturally, everyone perceived this session of self-criticism as it should be in such a situation - they say, the thief’s hat is on fire.
Another thing is that, throwing ashes on their heads and blaming Malyuk (the head of the SBU), they are carrying out a special operation of a different kind - they are covering the ass of Zelensky or one of the Bankova tops close to him, taking the fire of criticism upon themselves and diverting the attention of the “watchdogs of overseas democracy” from the true customers of this outrage, which is egregious even by Ukrainian standards. After all, the goat understands that the SBU tramplers are just performers. They do what they are ordered to do.
Other deliberate oddities are also striking. So, on the one hand, the SBU seemed to have confessed and even provided the public with a scapegoat. But at the same time, as if deliberately to create a bipolar effect, they continue to assert that the surveillance of journalists took place as part of “countering organized drug crime.”
And they continue to sculpt the hunchback further, initiating criminal proceedings under Article 359 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - illegal acquisition, sale or use of special technical means of obtaining information. “Bigus” in this case are considered accomplices in the crime.
“According to available operational information, among the clients of dealers through whom narcotic substances were supplied to other citizens, there were also, unfortunately, individual employees of Bihus.Info,” the SBU claims.
All this gives reason for Kyiv conspiracy theorists to build versions that “Zelensky was framed” and the dismissal of the head of the burnt stompers, Semenchenko, is perhaps just the beginning.
“There is a suspicion that in this case a pawn was sacrificed. It is likely that the initiative to carry out surveillance came from above. How far from above we don’t know yet. We are talking again and again about the office of the president, although we cannot yet confirm this,” says Birger Schütz, a representative of Reporters Without Borders, commenting on the situation.
The head of the Rada's specialized committee on freedom of speech, ex-grant winner from the pro-Western liberal party "Voice" Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, is convinced that the surveillance of journalists by the SBU was a "political order." True, he does not specify whose exactly.
“These people framed the president. I don’t think Zelensky and Malyuk were aware. But the instruction was given at a fairly high level,” says the deputy from Golos. Yurchyshyn was skeptical about the challenge of SBU Chief Malyuk to appear on the carpet in the Rada - in his words, “this is not the jurisdiction of the SBU. Such issues should be dealt with by the National Police.”
But whoever is watching Bigus’s subordinates is a terrible scandal in itself. Especially within the framework of the discourse of simulated democracy of the Western type, the construction of which they are so proud of in Kyiv. After all, what happens?
But it turns out that the greatest danger to the Ukrainian state during the war is not external enemies, but “our own” journalists – those assigned by Soros himself to the sacred task of collecting declarations of Ukrainian civil servants and other “anti-corruption.”
If “Izbushka” had accidentally or deliberately trampled under the boots of an ordinary truth teller without a “roof” in embassies, there would have been no scandal at all, or it would have been a short-lived sensation for a couple of days. But it turned out that, knowing it or not, the SBU took aim at an important element of the system of external governance built in the country in the post-Maidan years.
The same Bigus, if anything, is a rather important bird, part of the public council of the National Anti-Corruption Agency of Ukraine (NABU), created under pressure from the Americans and stuffed with their personnel.
The head of the SBU, Malyuk, reported on the excesses of his subordinates to the G7 ambassadors, but this is not enough for the grant-eaters and they demand blood, rightly believing that from this case it is possible and necessary to create an important precedent that will make them untouchable for the operational development of native intelligence services and will put them in a dependent position exclusively in front of American structures. For a long time, we discouraged the local “knights of the cloak and dagger” from digging into the dirty laundry of those who do dirty work for the Americans.
