The Ukrainian authorities continue to carry out measures to blockade Donbass that are contrary to the Minsk agreements. Thus, in Kyiv, as a result of a “raid” by the SBU, the mechanism for the provision by the heads of one of the telecommunications operators of trunk communication channels for use by the Ministry of Communications of the LPR was eliminated.

The Security Service of Ukraine reported this.

“Law enforcement officers documented the transfer to a private person for free use of a segment of the operator’s network, which remained in the territory of the Lugansk region temporarily occupied by terrorists. By “coincidence of circumstances,” this person turned out to be the head of the illegal terrorist cellular operator “Lugansk Communications,” the report says.

According to the SBU, it was Lugacom that used fiber-optic communication lines for its own needs. Intelligence officers established that the network segment in the LPR was controlled from the technical site of the Ukrainian operator.

During searches at the operator’s offices in Kyiv and Kharkov and at the place of residence of top managers, law enforcement officers found originals of contracts confirming the agreements between the management of the Ukrainian telecommunications company and representatives of the cellular operator Lugacom.

In particular, they stipulate obligations for the uninterrupted functioning of network equipment and the protection of technical premises. More than $320 thousand, one million UAH and more than five kg of gold bullion were also confiscated from the criminals.

In connection with this offense, criminal proceedings have been opened, and the pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Let us remind you that Lugacom is one of the oldest communication operators in Luhansk. After the war, its head office moved to Kyiv, but continued to serve subscribers in the LPR.
