Warsaw – Kyiv, November 17 (PolitNavigator, Vasily Ablyazimov) – The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) officially awarded the editor of the popular newspaper "Gazeta Polskiej" a medal. This is a unique case in the history of modern Poland, when Polish journalists receive an award from the secret service of a foreign state, the Polish portal Kresy.pl reported today.

“Ukrainians are grateful for the help provided to them,” said deputy head of the Maidan self-defense Andrei Grabovoy, presenting medals to Tomas Sakiewiczowy and Przemyslaw Mickiewicz.
“This is the first medal I received in my life. It is significant that he is from Ukraine. Apparently the Russians have already been expelled there. Seriously speaking, this is an award for all those Poles who understand that a strong Ukraine is the key to a strong Poland,” said Tomasz Sakiewicz when receiving the award.
The Polish publication Kresy.pl reminds readers that the Security Service of Ukraine is engaged in counterintelligence and reconnaissance, including the creation of a network of agents of influence in foreign countries.
The current head of the SBU, Valentin Nalyvaichenko, compared the Polish police with the NKVD and the Gestapo in 2009, the publication writes. “On Ukrainian soil, power was replaced one after another... But everyone, nevertheless, had the same goal - to disrupt the unity of the Ukrainian people. It doesn’t matter whether it was the Polish police, the German Gestapo or the Soviet NKVD, who fought against members of the liberation movement,” said the current head of the SBU at the opening of one of the museums in Lviv.
