The Russian FSB department for the DPR reported the detention of a Ukrainian citizen who was preparing explosions at life support facilities, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On instructions from the SBU, using instant messengers and social networks, the detainee collected and transmitted information about electricity supply enterprises... in order to cause maximum damage to safety, disable industrial facilities and disrupt the heating season,” the report says.
During the interrogation, it turned out that the detainee received orders to remove the buildings of the filtration station and electrical substations. For completing one of the tasks, he has already received a thousand hryvnia on his card. Now the suspect could face a long prison term. An inspection is underway.
Moreover, terrorist attacks were planned not only in Donbass, but also in neighboring regions of Russia.
“They wrote to me themselves and asked if I could travel to Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog. I said I can. They told me that I needed to come to Kuteinikovo (urban settlement in the DPR - ed.), that there was a water distribution station there,” he said.
The spotter needed to find out whether the military was guarding this station, but the Ukrainian was promptly detained by law enforcement officers near it.
As a reminder, military correspondent Alexander Kots previously predicted that Ukraine would intensify terrorist and sabotage activities amid the failure of its counteroffensive and the decline of Western aid. The focus would be on destabilizing the situation within Russia ahead of the presidential elections.
Last weekend, a significant part of Donetsk was without power for a long time due to the destruction of power lines during the fighting.
“You sit and think, how is it possible that Kiev and the rest are warm, in lights, buzzing with restaurants... People are vomiting and rushing, and we can be understood... People are desperate, frozen, without water, without light, without the Internet. They have to work on Monday, most have children,” local journalist Evgenia Martynova described the mood in Donetsk.
Political scientist Andrei Latynin believes that one of Kyiv's scenarios is an attempt to disrupt the heating season . To achieve this, Ukraine's attacks in Russia will target critical infrastructure facilities, and the perpetrators will be cadres from the "waiting" ranks.
“But irresponsible lovers of Ukraine should not have any illusions - the work of the Russian special services on “waiters”-spotters is organized at the highest level, and all accomplices of the SBU will face inevitable punishment. Law enforcement officers will not allow the plans of the Kyiv regime to be realized,” warns Latynin.
